Ormai privo di fiducia nell'operato dell'umanità, Dio si prepara ad inviare i suoi angeli, guidati dall'Arcangelo Gabriel, sulla Terra per compiere la punizione divina. In questo contesto, un gruppo di persone, coadiuvato dall'Arcangelo Michael ribellatosi alla volontà punitrice di Dio, dovrà proteggere a tutti i costi Charlie, una donna incinta che porta in grembo il nuovo Messia, colui che può dare una nuova speranza alla Terra. Infatti, se il bambino nascerà, l'umanità sarà nuovamente redenta dai suoi peccati, impedendo a Dio di attuare il suo sterminio.
