Ritornato nella casa di famiglia, nella sua cittadina d'origine, Lawrence Talbot, un nobile dall'animo sofferente, risponde alla richiesta d'aiuto della fidanzata del fratello, disperata per l'improvvisa scomparsa del suo amato. E' da quando era morta la madre che Lawrence non rimetteva piede in quei luoghi, e sembra che ora una figura oscura conseguenza di una maledizione stia creando il panico tra la popolazione. Ad indagare su quegli strani episodi é accorso anche Aberline, un ispettore mandato da Scotland Yard...
